Efe started riding when he was 14 years old. At first as a hobby, but soon his interest in equestrian sport grew. Horses became a vital part of Efe’s life, which initiated the start of his professional career in show jumping.
To gain more experience Efe teamed up with several renowned coaches, such as Avni Atabek, Emile Hendrix and Rob Ehrens. He proved himself on the European show jumping circuit and in 2011 he was chosen to represent Turkey for the first time in a Nations Cup competition. He set up a home base in partnership with his father Cem, and since moving to the Netherlands Efe's career has really taken off. His show jumping career has developed to the highest level of the sport. He has represented his home country many times at high-profile events with as a highlight, competing at the 2018 European Championships in Goteborg, Sweden.
