The British capital and home to over nine million people, London is one of the world's most visited cities, receiving 30 million tourists every year. Located in the South East of the country, and bisected by the River Thames, it was founded by the Romans more than 2,000 years ago and has become a city of culture, history and great diversity.
As one of the world’s most cosmopolitan metropolises, London is a vibrant mosaic of over 270 nationalities and 300 spoken languages. This rich multiculturalism creates an unparalleled energy, where every neighborhood offers a unique window into the city’s global soul.
The city’s skyline is a breathtaking dialogue between the ancient and the avant-garde. Historic landmarks like the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, and the resonant towers of Big Ben stand in the shadow of modern architectural marvels like The Shard and The Gherkin. This eclecticism extends to London’s cultural offerings, with over 170 museums—from the treasures of the British Museum to the contemporary mastery of the Tate Modern—providing a world-class stage for art and discovery.
London’s soul is equally shaped by its literary and theatrical legends. The foggy streets that inspired Charles Dickens lead eventually to the South Bank, where Shakespeare’s Globe, a meticulous renovation of the 1599 original, still brings the Bard’s greatest works to life.
Beyond the urban bustle, the city breathes through its "Green Lungs," from the royal expanses of Hyde Park to the botanical sanctuary of Kew Gardens. This storied landscape is also the bedrock of a prestigious sporting legacy; as the only city to host the Olympic Games three times and the home of Wimbledon, the world’s oldest and most revered tennis tournament, London remains the ultimate destination for those who celebrate the pinnacle of human achievement.
