A breakthrough on the biggest stage - Iñigo Lopez de la Osa and Nascar van’t Siamshof deliver a standout Grand Prix performance in Mexico City.

There are moments in sport where everything clicks - and for Iñigo Lopez de la Osa, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Mexico City was exactly that.
At just 22 years old, the Monegasque rider produced a performance of maturity and precision beyond his years, guiding Nascar van’t Siamshof to their first-ever clear in an LGCT Grand Prix. In an arena known for its intensity and atmosphere, it was a round built on discipline, trust, and a clear execution of plan.
“Round one… we kept the plan, followed the plan. I’m really happy, it went well.”
That clarity carried into the jump-off. Already marking a milestone with qualification, Lopez de la Osa returned with intent - riding forward, committed, and on a time that would have secured second place. In doing so, he was set to edge his coach, Simon Delestre, off the podium.
But at the final fence, the story shifted.
One rail fell.
The result - eighth place - doesn’t reflect just how close this was to a breakthrough podium. Without it, it would have been second. Instead, it stands as his highest-ever LGCT Grand Prix finish, and a defining step forward for both rider and horse.
Importantly, there was no chasing the moment - only sticking to the process.
“For the jump-off, I stick to a plan… you can only beat the ones in front of you.”
In a championship defined by legacy, this was the emergence of something new - a young rider, a talented horse, and a partnership stepping confidently onto the world stage.
A rail away from second.
But unmistakably, a moment that matters.
My vision is clear. Only the best for the best.
