A roll call of the horses and riders whose victories at LGCT Doha have defined the season opener and shaped the Tour’s legacy.

As the season-opening stage of the Longines Global Champions Tour, Doha has played a defining role in the history of the championship. Over the years, the Tour’s return to Qatar has delivered performances that set the tone for entire seasons – and crowned some of the most influential partnerships in the sport.
The LGCT Doha Hall of Fame honours the horses and riders who rose to the occasion under the lights at Al Shaqab, producing performances that have become reference points in Tour history.
That legacy began in 2008, when Denis Lynch claimed the first-ever LGCT Doha victory with Lantinus 3 – a result that marked the starting point of the Tour’s modern era. In 2012, Edwina Tops-Alexander added her name to the Doha honours list alongside Cevo Itot du Château, combining experience on one of the Tour’s most influential stages.
Doha continued to reward bold performances as the years have progressed. Scott Brash and Hello Sanctos took victory in 2013, followed by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and Casall ASK – a partnership synonymous with consistency at championship height. In 2015, Luciana Diniz and Fit For Fun delivered a performance that balanced scope with tactical accuracy.
A defining moment for the host nation arrived in 2017, when Bassem Mohammed and Gunder secured a home victory in Doha – a result that resonated deeply with both local and international audiences. The following year, Ben Maher and Explosion W produced a dominant performance, reinforcing Doha’s reputation as a venue where the very best rise to the top.
More recent Doha winners reflect the evolution of the Tour. Niels Bruynseels and Delux Van T&L claimed the title in 2021, followed by Ludger Beerbaum and Mila in 2022 – a mare who continues her career on Tour today with Nadja Peter Steiner. In 2023, Philipp Weishaupt took top honours with Just Be Gentle, now partnered with Christian Kukuk.
Most recently, Abdel Said and the exceptional Bonne Amie have dominated LGCT Doha, securing back-to-back victories in 2024 and 2025 – firmly establishing their place in the stage’s Hall of Fame.
As the Tour returns to Qatar, Doha’s Hall of Fame stands as a record of performances that have helped shape the opening chapter of countless seasons.
