Ready for takeoff on home turf — Madrid in Motion returns to the Spanish capital for Stage 4 of the 2025 GCL Championship Race.

From May 16–18, the GCL of Madrid lights up the iconic Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, and all eyes will be on the home team: Madrid in Motion. With passionate crowds, high-stakes action, and a lineup packed with talent, this is set to be a defining moment in their 2025 campaign.

One of the cornerstones of the GCL Championship, Madrid in Motion enters the 2025 season with renewed purpose after a consistent 7th-place finish last year. Backed by a roster of seasoned campaigners and fresh firepower, this is a team built on experience, synergy, and serious competitive spirit.

Returning titans Eduardo Alvarez Aznar and Maikel van der Vleuten are joined by Manuel Fernandez Saro, Jack Whitaker, and newcomers Victor Bettendorf and Kim Emmen - a dynamic blend of horsepower, precision, and promise.

And this weekend, the home crowd will see Eduardo, Maikel, and Manuel take centre stage in front of fans who know them best. With vital championship points on the line, their performance in Madrid could ignite a serious charge up the leaderboard.

 

Meet the Riders of Madrid In Motion

Eduardo Alvarez Aznar (ESP)
A hometown hero and linchpin of Madrid in Motion, Eduardo is back for his fifth consecutive season. A former GCL Super Cup winner and 2023 podium finisher, he brings a deep understanding of the team format and thrives under pressure - especially when riding on Spanish soil.

Maikel van der Vleuten (NED)
A pillar of the team since 2017, Maikel is one of GCL’s most seasoned competitors. With an unmatched ability to deliver when it counts, his presence offers both stability and a serious shot at podium finishes.

Manuel Fernandez Saro (ESP)
Spanish talent meets experience in Manuel, whose return to the GCL stage with Madrid in Motion is one to watch. A reliable anchor with sharp instincts, Manuel will be riding in front of a home crowd ready to cheer him to success.

Jack Whitaker (GBR)
Riding as the team’s U25 athlete, Jack returns with flair and focus. Having grown in stature on the international scene, he brings youthful energy and bold determination to this well-rounded squad.

Kim Emmen (NED)
Making her return to Madrid in Motion, Kim brings fearless riding and an eye for speed. After solid performances with the Cannes Stars powered by Iron Dames, she now adds further depth to Madrid in Motion’s 2025 ambitions.

Victor Bettendorf (LUX)
Victor makes his GCL debut after a standout 2024 season on the Longines Global Champions Tour. Known for his power, precision, and ability to deliver under pressure, he’s a thrilling new addition and a potential game-changer for the team.
