GCL Doha Hall of Fame – The Teams That Set the Standard

As the opening battleground of the season, Doha has become one of the most influential stages on the GCL calendar. The GCL Doha Hall of Fame recognises the teams whose performances in Qatar have defined momentum, set standards and shaped championship trajectories.

Among the most dominant names to feature in Doha are Cannes Stars powered by Iron Dames. Victorious at GCL Doha in both 2024 and 2025, they arrive once again with the opportunity to claim a third consecutive win at this venue – a rare achievement that would further cement their status as one of the League’s leading forces.

Doha has also been a stage of sustained excellence for Valkenswaard United, who claimed victories here in both 2017 and 2021 before going on to secure the GCL Championship title in 2025. Their Doha performances have repeatedly demonstrated the importance of depth, reliability and tactical execution at the very start of the season.

Other teams have used Doha as a launchpad for future success. Riesenbeck International delivered a pivotal win in 2023, a result that helped set the trajectory toward their eventual championship success. Earlier, the Shanghai Swans claimed victory in 2019, marking themselves as a formidable force with a performance built on precision and power.

Together, these teams form the GCL Doha Hall of Fame – a record of those who mastered the unique demands of the season opener and used early success to define the months that followed.
