UAE’s Ali Hussain Alnowais claims his first international win with One Lewis in the CSI2* Martin Collins London Cup, topping a competitive field in style.

The CSI2* Martin Collins London Cup delivered a memorable victory for the UAE’s Ali Hussain Alnowais, riding One Lewis to the top of the podium.
Hussain stopped the clock in an unbeatable 36.13 seconds, edging ahead of Ireland’s Aisling Byrne with Celeste SPB Z in second, and Great Britain’s Lucy Warren aboard Okehurst Mr Smooth in third.
This win marked a special milestone for Hussain - his first international victory with the 13-year-old gelding affectionately known as Lewis, who joined his team last year. “We’ve had a really nice journey so far together, but it’s been a long summer,” he reflected. “I was keen on knocking a stride off in between distances where possible to take off the seconds.”
Remarkably, Hussain has only been showjumping for three years, but 2025 has already been a season of consistency and progress. Following his trainer to major 5* shows, he has been soaking up both experience and tactics.
“I used to ride a lot when I was younger, but then I had university and stopped,” he explained. “Three years ago I decided it was time to come back - it’s been the best decision.”
Looking ahead, Hussain’s sights are set on the Brussels Stephex Masters later this month. “For me this is an important show because that was my home for three years - to win there would be an absolute honour.” Before then, all eyes will be on him again as he lines up for tomorrow's Sunday’s Grand Prix here in London.

My vision is clear. Only the best for the best.
