Ali Hussain Alnowais and Narcos vd Smidshoeve clinch victory under the Eiffel Tower in a thrilling CSI1* Two Phase 1.35m, Presented by Jappeloup.
In a setting that never fails to inspire, the CSI1* Two Phase 1.35m, Presented by Jappeloup, unfolded beneath the shadow of the Eiffel Tower – one of the most iconic backdrops in all of sport. With the Paris skyline framing the arena and the atmosphere electric, it was Ali Hussain Alnowais who rose to the occasion, delivering a faultless performance with Narcos vd Smidshoeve to take the win.
Alnowais, representing the UAE, guided the 12-year-old bay gelding with poise and precision, producing a fast, double-clear round. Their slick jump-off time of 24.86 seconds, following an opening effort of 50.12 seconds, sealed the victory in a class defined by pace, style, and tight margins.
Finishing a close second was Marie Eder Ferrero of Monaco aboard the impressive Diaradius. The pair delivered a classy clear in both phases, stopping the clock in 25.29 seconds in the second round – just four tenths behind the leader – in a performance that showed great composure and talent.
France’s own Dorothee Amar and Elfy du Pic thrilled the home crowd with a dynamic first phase time of 46.41 seconds, the fastest of the day. Their jump-off round of 25.42 seconds rounded out the podium and showcased the mare’s athleticism and heart in front of a buzzing Parisian audience.
Riding in the heart of the French capital, under the lights and against a backdrop that speaks to the grandeur of both the city and the sport, each athlete rose to the moment. This was show jumping at its most atmospheric – and most competitive.
