A First for Equestrian Sport: This Esme to Live Stream LGCT Doha on Youtube

A First for Equestrian Sport: This Esme to Live Stream LGCT Doha on Youtube

The Longines Global Champions Tour is set to break new ground in digital sport engagement as leading equestrian creator This Esme will live stream and commentate the CSI5* 1.50m Jump-off via YouTube.

Kicking off on Friday during the Longines Global Champions Tour Doha, Esme will stream the class live across her own Youtube channel, offering real-time reactions, giveaways, insight and accessible commentary layered over world-class five-star competition. This marks the first time in elite show jumping that a major digital creator has independently live streamed and provided fan-led commentary alongside a CSI5* class for free.

Across global sport, leagues and rights holders are increasingly collaborating with influencers and digital creators to expand their reach and connect with new audiences. From Formula 1 to football and tennis, creator-led broadcasts and watch-along formats have proven to be powerful tools in driving engagement, younger viewership and social amplification.

With this activation, the Longines Global Champions Tour positions itself at the forefront of innovation within equestrian sport - embracing a rapidly growing market and recognising the influence of digital-native audiences. By integrating a leading equestrian creator directly into the live sport experience, the Tour is taking a significant step forward in modernising how show jumping is consumed and shared.

With a combined global audience spanning YouTube and social media, This Esme brings a new generation of fans into the heart of the sport. The initiative forms part of the Tour’s continued strategy to:

Broaden reach beyond traditional broadcast platforms

Drive new and younger audiences toward elite show jumping

Increase digital engagement around key classes

Create new commercial and content opportunities

Who is This Esme?

With millions of followers across YouTube and social media, This Esme has become one of the most recognisable voices in equestrian sport. Known for her authentic, educational and accessible content, she has built a global community by sharing her journey with horses in a relatable and engaging way.

Her platform stands for inclusivity, education and passion for horses, making the sport more approachable for new audiences while maintaining credibility within the equestrian world. This alignment makes her a natural partner for LGCT - a brand that combines elite sport with global reach, storytelling and lifestyle.

Both LGCT and This Esme share a vision of growing the sport beyond its traditional audience. While LGCT delivers world-class five-star competition in iconic destinations, Esme connects directly with a new generation of fans - bridging the gap between elite sport and everyday riders.

The Doha activation marks the beginning of a wider collaboration, with plans to extend the partnership across additional events including Miami Beach and London and many more. This signals a long-term commitment to integrating creator-led content into the Tour’s global strategy.

A spokesperson for the Longines Global Champions Tour commented: "Elite sport has to evolve with its audience. Across global sport we’re seeing creator-led broadcasts open the door to new fans, and we believe equestrian should be no different. Partnering with This Esme for Doha allows us to bring five-star show jumping to a younger, digital-first audience in a completely new way. It’s innovative, it’s authentic, and it’s an exciting step forward for our sport."

This Esme added: "I’m so excited to be bringing my community inside a CSI5* class in real time. Show jumping at this level is incredible to watch, and being able to react, explain and experience it live with my audience is something totally new for equestrian sport. I hope it gives more people the confidence to follow the sport, learn more about it, and tune in for the LGCT Grand Prix on Sunday."

By merging elite five-star sport with creator-driven storytelling, this initiative represents a potential game changer for equestrian broadcasting - demonstrating that the future of fan engagement lies in innovation, accessibility and collaboration.

Further details will be shared via official LGCT and This Esme channels in the coming days.
