One of the world’s most iconic cities welcomes the Longines Global Champions Tour back to the Italian capital from 9 – 11 October 2026, bringing three days of world-class show jumping, entertainment and unmistakable Italian style to a spectacular setting.

This year, the Longines Global Champions Tour of Rome will take place at the Tor Di Quinto Ippodromo Militare “Gen. C.A. Pietro Giannattasio”, a venue deeply rooted in the history of equestrian sport and located in the north of the Eternal City.
Set across an expansive green site close to the River Tiber, Tor Di Quinto provides a fitting stage for the world's best riders and horses as the 2026 championship enters its decisive closing stages. The venue combines sporting heritage with the energy and prestige of modern five-star show jumping, creating an exciting new chapter for LGCT Rome.
Few venues could be more closely connected to the evolution of equestrian sport.
The Tor Di Quinto Ippodromo Militare “Gen. C.A. Pietro Giannattasio” has a history stretching back more than a century. Military riding courses began at Tor Di Quinto in 1891, with the venue becoming an important centre for the development of Italian horsemanship. Among those associated with the school was Captain Federico Caprilli, whose revolutionary approach to riding transformed jumping technique and helped shape the modern sport seen around the world today.
Today, the site remains home to the Equestrian Military Centre of the 8th Lancieri di Montebello Regiment and spans approximately 32 hectares at the foot of Fleming Hill.
For the Longines Global Champions Tour, it creates a unique meeting point between the heritage of the sport and its future: an historic equestrian venue transformed into a stage for the fastest, most technical and most competitive show jumping in the world.

Event Location: Tor Di Quinto Ippodromo Militare “Gen. C.A. Pietro Giannattasio”, Viale di Tor di Quinto 118, 00191 Rome, Italy. The venue is situated in northern Rome and can be reached by public transport, taxi or car. Public transport options serving the Tor Di Quinto area include connections from central Rome via the Roma–Viterbo urban railway as well as several local bus routes.

Taking place from 9 – 11 October, Rome arrives at a pivotal point in the 2026 Longines Global Champions Tour and GCL season, with championship points becoming increasingly valuable as the campaign moves towards its final stages. The world's leading riders and horses will descend on Tor Di Quinto with individual Grand Prix glory, GCL team honours and championship ambitions all on the line. Expect breathtaking sport, razor-thin margins and three days of action in a venue whose own history is inseparable from the evolution of international equestrianism.

Beyond the arena, Rome needs little introduction. Italy’s capital is a city where more than two thousand years of history sit alongside contemporary culture, fashion, gastronomy and unmistakable Italian lifestyle. Ancient monuments emerge around almost every corner, while elegant piazzas, bustling neighbourhoods and celebrated restaurants make Rome one of the world's great city-break destinations. Visitors can explore landmarks including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon and Trevi Fountain, cross the Tiber towards Vatican City and Castel Sant’Angelo, or spend an afternoon among the galleries, gardens and streets surrounding Villa Borghese. It makes an LGCT weekend in Rome about far more than the sport: championship show jumping by day followed by everything the Eternal City has to offer.
