WELCOME TO MONACO

Situated on the Mediterranean Riviera, Monaco is squeezed into just 200 hectares and after the Vatican City is the world's smallest country. It is smaller than Central Park in New York and is unique in that there are no rivers flowing through it.

Inhabited since 400,000BC, it now is known as having an affluent population, and is home to some of the most impressive super yachts, which can be seen moored in the Port de Hercule. With its stunning setting, the port was used as a location in the James Bond film Golden Eye. It is also home to the annual Formula One Motor Racing Grand Prix which attracts visitors from all over the world.

With the world’s smallest coastline, measuring just 2.38 miles, Monaco is built into the hillside and has many steep tree lined streets. These are home to luxury boutiques and lots of cafes, restaurants and bars. At the beach there are a range of clubs offering the opportunity to sit and soak up the sun, while the charming old town on the south side of the port is home to the principality’s Royal Palace.

Avenue Princess Grace is named after Grace Kelly, the American actress, who married Prince Ranier III and took the title of Princess Grace of Monaco. Despite also being famous for its casinos, citizens of Monaco are forbidden by law from gambling even though there are 12,261 millionaires in less than one square mile.
