The Stockholm Olympic Stadium was built for the 1912 Olympic Games and is the oldest Olympic stadium still in use. It has a great equestrian heritage with two Olympic Games (1912 and 1956) and also hosted the World Equestrian Games in 1990.
Stockholm was built on 14 islands, connected by 57 bridges, earning the Swedish capital the nickname "Beauty on the Water."
Gamla Stan, the Old Town, is one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centers in Europe, and one of the foremost attractions in Stockholm. This is where Stockholm was founded in 1252.
Stockholm is the only capital in the world with a national urban park. The Royal National City Park forms an arc more than 9.5 kilometers (6 miles) long, stretching around and through the city

There are several transfer options at the airport - from Stockholm Arlanda Airport, choose between a taxi or the Arlanda Express train (around 20 minutes to the city centre), and from Stockholm Bromma Airport, the main options are taxi or bus (around 25 minutes to the city centre).
Getting around in Stockholm
Stockholm has a safe and efficient public transport system, so it is a good way to travel around the city centre.
There are many taxi companies that also offer fast transport in the city centre.
Electric scooters are also available in Stockholm, much like bicycle hire in other cities. Almost every street has a drop-off point where you can find charged scooters at any time of day. Alternatively, download one of the many apps to help you find a scooter.

There are many things to explore and visit in Stockholm.
City Hall. In this beautiful building the Nobel Banquet is held every year, and from the tower, you get a wonderful view over the entire city.
Gamla Stan, Stockholm's oldest district and one of the best-preserved medieval city centers in the world. Walk through the winding streets lined with stores full of handicrafts, antiques and art galleries and make sure to stop in the beautiful Sankt Nikolai Kyrka Catherdal.
The Royal Palace - With over 500 rooms in total, the city’s Royal Palace is the world’s largest palace still used for its intended purpose.
Boat Tour- one of the best ways to explore Stockholm is from the water, many boats tours are available, allowing you to discover the 14 islands of the city.
Vasa Museum – A must see on the green island of Djurgården, where you can explore the world’s only 17th century ship.
Abba Museum – the interactive exhibition is perfect for any fans of the famous Swedish pop band.
City views- Stockholm has a unique landscape, with only the beautiful church spires piercing through the otherwise almost unobstructed skyline. Skinnarviksberget is the highest natural point in central Stockholm and offer stunning views of the city, making it a favorite place among the locals for open air picnics and parties. You can also walk the 365 steps up the 106-meter high City Hall tower to get amazing views and the Monteliusvägen, a 500-meter long walking path offers magnificent views of Lake Mälaren, Stockholm City Hall, and Riddarholmen, especially at sunrise and sunset.
