World Number One Daniel Deusser Powers to Win the First Class of LGCT Stockholm

World Number One Daniel Deusser Powers to Win the First Class of LGCT Stockholm

The first CSI5* class at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Stockholm was a showcase of pure talent from the best horses and riders in the world. It was a sensational win for current world number one Daniel Deusserto who took top honours with new ride Bingo Ste Hermelle. He was closely followed by Micheal G Duffy on Vertige de Galarzacs and Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli finished in third place with Nintender Star.

The 1.45m two-phase course built by Uliano Vezzani was a challenging track as the competitors cruised around the Swedish Olympic Stadium. It was the spooky wall that caused the most problems with the time allowed not playing a huge part today.

Midway through the class Daniel Deusser cruised his talented 10 year old stallion round the stadium at a flat out gallop. They set out as they meant to go on and flew through the finish line in a time to beat of 25.22 seconds.

It wasn’t until the last few riders when it looked like my Micheal G Duffy was going to storm into the lead but he was milliseconds off the pace and had to settle for 2nd on  Vertige de Galarzacs

Last to go and jumping on home turf Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli pushed the gas pedal down but couldn’t quite match the pace on Nintender Star as they passed through the timers in 26.28 seconds.

The next class GCL Stockholm Round 1 starts at 16.00 local time. Tune in to www.gctv.gcglobalchampions.com to watch.
