For the 11th leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour, the new luxurious location is in Great Britain's very own iconic capital city of London, on the immaculate grounds of the Chelsea Royal Hospital.
With 48 of the world's leading showjumpers competing in this 5* event, the competition is fierce with Daniel Deusser (GER) ranked 6th in the world and his sensational horse Bingo Ste Hermelle going up against the likes of Harry Charles (GBR) on unbelievable Borsato and Scott Brash (GBR) on Hello Mr President. Lily Atwood is back with her recent LGCT of Paris silver medallist rider Cor-Leon v. Vlierbeek while John Whitaker (GBR) on Equine America Unick du Francport and Jack Whitaker (GBR) on the wild-spirited Equine America Valmy de Lande will all be hoping to be victorious on home soil.
However, with the plethora of competitors from 20 different nations around the world, British triumph is not only challenged by the talent of Australian Edwina Tops Alexander (AUS) on the phenomenal Fellow Castlefield but also by Belgian Giles Thomas (BEL) on Feromas van Beek Z and Olivier Phillippaetrs (BEL) with his dazzling duo of H&M Miro and Le Blue Diamond v. T Ruytershof.
Other familiar faces include Phillip Weishaupt (GER) on speed demon Coby, Niels Bruynseels (BEL) with Delux van T & L, Maikel van der Vluetun (NED) on Elwikke, Christian Ahlmann on the sensational Solid Gold Z and Christian Kukuk (GER) on Mumbai.
My vision is clear. Only the best for the best.
