The 15th and final stage of the Global Champions League took place in Riyadh with the championship and GCL Super Cup semi finals still up for grabs.
In this episode of The Insider, hosts Marc Lewis and Frederik De Backer look at the sensational performance of the Berlin Eagles, powered by Fundis Reitsport and question the tactics used by the Stockholm Hearts, powered by H&M. The performances of the Prague Lions and Shanghai Swans are also analysed as they complete the Top Four.
Lewis: " With 4/4 on any normal day, we would not be hyper critical, but on this particular stage, that 4/4 (of Stockholm Hearts) felt like a nail in the coffin before Round 2 was even jumped."
De Backer: "Philippaerts really blamed himself, it was strong of him to take the blame instead of his mare, and with Fredericson on the final fence, for once, the luck was not on their side and it had a huge impact."
Christian Ahlmann: "We did our job quite well, there were a lot of faults so we tried to jump clear. There was a lot of pressure but we did enough."
St Tropez Pirates won the stage after staying clear all weekend. De Backer: "A class act, both Deusser and Pender. They worked well together, understand each other and produced good results."
This week's three Star Jumper nominees were also unveiled for standout moments and performances this weekend:
Martin Fuchs
Michael Pender
Olivier Philippaerts
