Sophie Hinners Easily Claims Victory in CSI5* 1.45m Trofeo ¡Hola!

Victory went to Germany in the penultimate class at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Madrid. Sophie Hinners gave a masterclass in the expansive grass arena, taking the top spot.

Sophie Hinners made it look easy aboard Kanturo BH. She flawlessly navigated the tough course aboard the 9 year old stallion to claim a well-deserved first place, coming home over three seconds faster than the rest of the field. Second place went to Canada’s Tiffany Foster. Foster rode clear on her mount, Kadans, but could not quite match the pace of the lightning fast Hinners. Hot on the Canadian’s heels was Max Kühner of Austria. The powerhouse rider came home on a clean sheet aboard EIC Julius Caesar to secure third place.

In fourth place was Spain’s Armando Trapote. The Spanish rider delivered a quick, clear round  in front of his home crowd on his bay mare, Grace Blue. Rounding out the top five was Fernando Martinez Sommer of Mexico. Sommer rode a smooth round aboard the 10 year old Joep to take fifth place.
