With the Stockholm leg of the 2022 GCL Series inspiring all in attendance with a storybook result of a home win for Peder Fredricson and Malin Baryard-Johnsson, the roars of the crowd and knife edge atmosphere proved a treat for even the world’s best riders. When asked about the home-turf support, Peder Fredricson of the Stockholm Hearts powered by H&M commented: “What do you think? Just listen to that, it is unbelievable.”
Alongside the main competitions of LGCT and GCL in 2023, Stockholm Horse Week will feature a thrilling festival of equestrian sport in close collaboration with the City of Stockholm to develop a sustainable world class event in the city. The concept of Stockholm Horse Week is to inspire, broaden and create a celebration with the people around equestrian sport.
As the 2022 LGCT Grand Prix of Stockholm Champion, Christian Ahlmann commented on the electrifying sport and supportive crowd at this year’s event: “It was unbelievable, all the people here you can tell are horse people and know the sport, they are behind every rider, and it feels great - I am more than happy.”
Having hosted the Olympic Games in 1912 and 1956, the Swedish capital has a powerful affinity with world-class sporting action and strong heritage in equestrian sport. With plenty of home heroes returning to Stockholm to cheer for, fans will be able to witness a true battle of the world's best live in person or on GCTV, with top international and local riders competing for the win in Sweden.
All the action will be streamed live on GCTV with expert commentary and analysis ensuring show jumping fans across the world can follow their favourite riders and horses throughout the event.
My vision is clear. Only the best for the best.
