Mexico City Welcomes Show Jumping’s Finest for Unmissable Longines Global Champions Tour Event

The Longines Global Champions Tour of Mexico City, presented by GNP Mexico Jumping, is set to electrify audiences from 27 to 30 March, bringing the world’s best show jumping talent to the iconic Campo Marte. As the exclusive Latin American leg of the tour, this highly anticipated event cements Mexico City as a premier destination in the global equestrian calendar.

Today’s opening press conference officially launched the competition, with event director Francisco Pasquel expressing his enthusiasm:

German rider Katrin Eckermann, a top contender for the LGCT Grand Prix of Mexico City and a key member of Cannes Stars powered by Iron Dames, shared her excitement for the competition:
“This is my fourth time at the LGCT of Mexico City, and I couldn’t be more excited. The incredible grass arena is truly special, and the fans bring such amazing energy, cheering us on every step of the way. It’s also my second year competing here with my team, Cannes Stars powered by Iron Dames, and we are coming in strong, ready to fight for victory.”

The star-studded lineup features some of the biggest names in show jumping, with Christian Ahlmann returning as a top podium contender. 2024 LGCT Champion Max Kühner makes his debut in the 2025 season, aiming to secure crucial points in his title defense. Two-time LGCT Champion Edwina Tops-Alexander, Eduardo Alvarez Aznar, and home favorites Carlos Hank Guerrio and Fernando Martinez Sommer join the elite field, alongside top talents like Simon Delestre and Olivier Philippaerts. Fresh off major successes, Olivier will look to replicate his brother Nicola’s victory in last year’s LGCT Grand Prix of Mexico City.

The competition is further elevated by world-class equine talent. Gilles Thomas arrives with Luna van het Dennehof, the 2024 LGCT Grand Prix of Shanghai winner known for her heart and determination. Christian Ahlmann brings two powerhouse mounts—Dourkhan Hero Z and Mandato van de Neerheide, his partner in victory at the 2023 LGCT Grand Prix of Paris. Olivier Philippaerts has H&M Miro, the 2024 LGCT Grand Prix of Stockholm winner, among his top horses.

Also in the mix is Katrin Eckermann’s Iron Dames Cala Mandia NRW, back-to-back LGCT Grand Prix of Miami Beach champion, and Sanne Thijssen’s Con Quidam RB, a proven force after triumphs in Madrid and Valkenswaard. Fernando Martinez Sommer carries Mexico’s hopes with Lady van de Haarterhoeve, aiming to repeat their 2024 GCL Mexico City victory for Prague Lions powered by Czech Equestrian Team.
