Markus Renzel Claims First Win of the Weekend in CSI3* Riesenbeck International Opening 1.40m Class

The Longines Global Champions Tour has kicked off in Germany with the CSI3* Riesenbeck International Opening 1.40m class. Markus Renzel claimed the top spot on his home turf in Germany in the first class of the weekend.

Markus Renzel made quick work of the course aboard Pikeur Cole's Balou. The German rider posted a fast, flawless round, claiming first place. Close behind was fellow German, Armin Schäfer. Schäfer rode quick and clear aboard his mount Drops van Overis Z to take second place in the opening class. Rounding out the top three was Nasouh Kayali of Jordan. Kayali delivered a smooth, clean round with his 11 year old gelding It's A Walk In the Park to take third.

Hot on his heels was Felix Hassmann of Germany. Hassmann masterfully navigated the course riding  C'est la Vie 214 to claim fourth place. Completing the top five was the USA’s Jessica Springsteen. Springsteen came home on a clean sheet aboard Rmf Coco de Talma, securing fifth place.
