Competition is in full swing on day one of the Longines Global Champions Tour of Rome. France’s Julien Anquetin claimed the top spot in the CSI5* Two Phase 1.40m class.
Julien Anquetin delivered the fastest time of phase two with Blood Diamond du Pont. The Frenchman stopped the clock at 27.46 seconds aboard the 13-year-old gelding. Second place went to fellow French rider Gregory Cottard. Cottard expertly navigated the course aboard Action Bellevue PS but could not quite catch Anquetin. Rounding out the top three was the Netherlands’ Jur Vrieling aboard Helwell du Chabus. The Dutch rider came home on a clean sheet to secure third place.
Hot on his heels was Max Kühner of Austria. Kühner rode clear aboard Eic Anton Sbk Z, stopping the clock at 31.34 seconds to take fourth place. Completing the top five was Italy’s Giacomo Casadei and Marbella du Chabli. The Italian rider rode smooth and clear in front of his home crowd to earn fifth place.
