The stage is set for the Longines Global Champions Tour of Paris. As the world’s top riders prepare to battle it out in the beautiful Bagatelle Park, we take a look back at the past winners of the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Paris.
The Longines Global Champions Tour first headed to the City of Light in 2014. That year saw French rider Kevin Staut claim victory on his home turf aboard Silvana HDC. In 2015, Bertram Allen of Ireland took the top spot riding Romanov in a challenging class with a jump off of only five riders. 2016 saw Sweden’s Rolf-Göran Bengtsson narrowly claim the win aboard Casall Ask, coming home just 0.4 seconds faster than second place.
In 2017, the trophy was handed back to the home nation of France as Julien Epaillard piloted his mount Usual Suspect d’Auge to victory in a jump off of only three riders. Great Britain's Sameh El Dahan narrowly claimed the win in 2018 aboard Suma’s Zorro. 2019 saw Christian Ahlmann of Germany take the top spot riding Take A Chance On Me Z.
Following a brief break due to Covid-19, the Longines Global Champions Tour was back in the French capital in 2021. That year saw Ben Maher of Great Britain claim the win aboard Ginger-Blue. In 2022, Brazil’s Marlon Modolo Zanotelli was victorious, expertly piloting Like A Diamond van het Schaeck through the challenging course.
Last year, Christian Ahlmann became the first rider to claim a second victory in the LGCT Grand Prix of Paris delivering a flawless performance aboard his mount Mandato van de Neerheide.
As we near the middle of the 2024 season, the competition is heating up and we eagerly await to learn who will claim victory in the LGCT Grand Prix of Paris this year. Will Christian Ahlmann secure back to back wins, claiming an unprecedented third win in Paris? Or will a new name be etched into show jumping history this week in Bagatelle Park? Join us in Paris for what is sure to be a thrilling show jumping battle.
My vision is clear. Only the best for the best.
