Top Belgian rider Gregory Wathelet was the only rider who managed to stay under the time in the CSI2* Big Tour Against the Clock 1.45m class with his beautiful and agile 12-year-old grey mare Argentina de la Marchette. He took over the lead from Irishman Michael Duffy midway through the competition by flying over the finish line in 59.65 seconds. Dutchman Leopold van Asten created some extra excitement by sending his strongly galloping mare VDL Groep Urane de Talma through the course at full speed. However, the duo fell just short of the time and stopped the clock at 60.48 seconds, securing second place. Duffy ended up third with nine-year-old Baloys PS.
Martin Fuchs of Switzerland claimed fourth place aboard Zero K. Hot on his heels was Germany’s Richard Vogel riding Adje T, completing the top five.
