It was a thrilling showdown here on Pampelonne Beach on the second day of the Longines Global Champions Tour of Ramatuelle, St. Tropez. Georgina Bloomberg triumphed in the CSI2* Champagne PIAFF Trophy 1.45m class. Champange Piaff are the official supplier for the Longines Athina Onasiss Horse Show.
Georgina Bloomberg of the USA dazzled the crowds on Pampelonne Beach with a flawless round aboard her mare Sempa Fidelis. When asked about her win aboard the 15 year old Hannovarian, Bloomberg said, “today I tried to just really let my horse focus on the jumps, and it paid off. She’s naturally quick and she has a big stride.” She also remarked on the unique atmosphere here in Ramatuelle, St. Tropez saying, “it’s been a few years since I have done this show but I love it. It’s a great town and a great atmosphere and it’s nice to be here by the beach.”
Second place went to France’s Brice Grugeon. The French rider rode a quick round aboard Do It de Clamens, but could not quite match the pace of Bloomberg. Emma Bodier of France took third riding Elina de Grandry. Bodier delivered a quick, clean round aboard her 10 year old chestnut mare to round out the top three.
Close behind was Vincent Bartin from France. Bartin came home on a clean sheet aboard Extreme du Gue to secure fourth place. Completing the top five was France’s Charlotte Strypsteen riding Zilvano. Strypsteen delivered a smooth, clear round to claim fifth place.
