GCTV has released a bonus episode of The Insider

GCTV has released a bonus episode of The Insider to look back at the statistics and performances that have stood out from the first 10 stages of the 2022 season. Hosted by Marc Lewis and Frederik De Backer, the show is available for free with your GCTV Access Pass.

The categories discussed include the best team, rider, horse and U25 performers.

The team of the year, thus far, is the championship leaders Stockholm Hearts Powered by H&M.

De Backer: "It starts with their clear rounds. 23/40 clears, that's above 50%. Berlin Eagles are second but the number of horses is 9 compared to 14. They have used a completely different strategy but it has worked."

Christian Ahlmann has been the best rider of the season with an average of just 1.9 penalties per round and 10/14 clears. Christian Kukuk, on the other hand, has been one of the best contributing team riders of the season.

Kukuk responded to the fact that he has contributed 69 of his teams combined 170 points : "For me, Ludger is always the anchorman, but it is great to know that I can contribute to the team the way I do."

The 2022 season has produced some of the best U25 performances seen in GCL history. The talented Mike Kawai has been the standout star, developing an excellent relationship with Goldwin in particular.

Stockholm Hearts rider Lily Attwood has also performed exceptionally with her first career double clear in Monaco.

Attwood: "Finally the clears have started to come for me after an unlucky start to the season. I've gotten into the courses more now, how they are being built and have kept my focus."

To support the great season of Ahlmann, there is no surprise that Solid Gold has produced the best horse numbers of the season followed closely by Faltic HB and Goldwin.

However, H&M Indiana perhaps produces one of the standout statistics.

De Backer: "She is the highest point contributor of the season with 55 points for team, that's 1/4 of the team's points this year.

The GCL next moves to London for Round 11 from August 19th - 21st. To find out more about the Global Champions League, subscribe to GCTV.
