GCL Madrid Spotlight - Hall of Fame
With the GCL of Madrid kicking off in a few hours time, final preparations are well underway. With the crowd streaming into the impressive Club de Campo Villa on a stunning grass arena the atmosphere is building in preparation of what is set to be a nail biting team competition.
2022 saw the Berlin Eagles powered by Fundis stormed into their second GCL win of the year and took the armband back as leaders of the Championship. Will they retain the lead this year as team Riesenbeck International powered by Kingsland Equestrian?
Speaking after their win last year, Philipp Weishaupt said: "We are extremely happy. We were under pressure because we want to stay in the lead at the top. To go in last is always extra pressure. I have a great teammate and we have two fantastic horses. When you get to win here in Madrid it is extra special."
Round 1 of GCL Madrid kicks off today at 3:30pm GMT+2, for those that can't join Global Champions on tour in Madrid, GCTV will be streaming all the action!
