“Everyone erupted in cheers!” Carolina Villanueva Suarez Wins in the CSI1* 1.40m Trofeo Caixabank Class

Carolina Villanueva Suarez soared to victory on the second day of the Longines Global Champions Tour of Madrid. Suarez posted the fastest times in both phases of the CSI1* 1.40m Trofeo Caixabank class to take the top spot.

Carolina Villanueva Suarez claimed victory on her home turf in the two phase class aboard Voice de Chenaie. The Spanish rider, who grew up riding at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, was the quickest of the class aboard the dark bay gelding who she described as her horse of a lifetime. When asked about her win, Suarez remarked, “everyone just erupted in cheers. So it's truly been incredible and I'm excited that I've been able to do it with him.”

Martin Dopazo of Argentina took second place riding Carlina Z. Dopazo made quick work of the course on his 12 year old gray mare but could not quite match the pace of Suarez. Rounding out the top three was Alejandro Entrecanales Marsans. The Spanish rider skillfully piloted his mount Baby Boy du Murger through the challenging course to claim third place.

Fourth place went to the USA’s Isabel Coxe aboard Jumper d'Oase. She posted a quick, clear round with the 10 year old gelding to claim fourth. Pilar Lucrecia Cordon completed the top five with Noblesse du Palis. The Spanish rider delivered a smooth, clean round to secure fifth place.
