End of an Era: Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margot to Retire in Emotional Tribute at LGCT Madrid

A legend takes his final bow.

On Sunday 18 May, just moments before the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Madrid, the spotlight will shine on a true icon of modern show jumping. Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margot, the powerful, brave, and endlessly charismatic partner of Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, will officially retire from competition in front of his home crowd in Spain.

It will be a moment drenched in emotion. After nearly a decade at the top of the sport, this extraordinary horse will say farewell in the place he knows best - under the Spanish sun, in front of a crowd that has roared him home time and time again.

Together, Rokfeller and Eduardo have soared to success on the world stage: With multiple podium finishes on the Longines Global Champions Tour and GCL team series he will go down in history as one of the best. One of his most memorable moments was his iconic win in the LGCT Grand Prix of Rabat just last year at 19 years old.  With his unmistakable presence, keen intelligence, and heart of a lion, Rokfeller was never just another horse - he was a once-in-a-lifetime partner.

Their bond, forged over years of trust and triumph, has captivated fans across the globe. From electric clears in the most high-pressure arenas to those spine-tingling moments when horse and rider seemed to float in sync, Rokfeller has carved his name into the story of Spanish equestrian sport forever.

Next weekend, that chapter will close - but not without one final celebration.

As thousands gather in the grandstands of Madrid’s iconic Club de Campo, the cheers won’t just be for the riders in the ring - they’ll be for a hero who gave everything for the sport. There will be tears, applause, and the kind of unforgettable farewell only a horse like Rokfeller deserves.

Thank you, Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margot.

If you can't be there in person you can watch all the action live on GCTV.

Tune in to LGCT Madrid!
My vision is clear. Only the best for the best.
