Eleonora Sanna Shines in CSI2* Grand Prix 1.45m Champagne Piaff Trophy

The Longines Global Champions Tour of London ended on a high note with the CSI2* Grand Prix 1.45m Champagne Piaff Trophy. Eleonora Sanna of Italy claimed the top spot in the final class of the weekend.

Eleonora Sanna expertly navigated the course aboard Amaretto Daisy and was the only rider to ride clear in class. The Italian rider stopped the clock at 38.59 seconds in the jump off, securing first place. Second place went to British rider Jake Ward riding Davinci vd Bosrand. Ward was only one of two on the jump off but could not quite catch the flawless Sanna. Rounding out the top three was fellow countryman Keira Stoute. Stoute delivered a clean run aboard K.I Context but stopped the clock just over the time, acquiring two time faults, nevertheless claiming third place.

Hot on her heels was James Whitaker of Great Britain. Whitaker posted the fastest time of the first round aboard Just Call me Henry but a fault on course meant fourth place for the rider. Completing the top five was South Africa’s Genene Burnett. Burnett made quick work of the course aboard Vanda Phantom, securing fifth place despite a fault on course.
