Delestre’s Winning Streak Continues with a Masterclass in Mexico City

The Longines Global Champions Tour of Mexico City kicked off in electrifying fashion, with an ecstatic crowd witnessing a thrilling showcase of world-class show jumping. In a remarkable feat, Simon Delestre once again proved his dominance, clinching back-to-back victories in Mexico City, this time aboard Golden Boy DK in the Trofeo Traxión 1.45m Two-Phase - the very same class he won in 2024.

A jubilant Delestre shared his excitement with GCTV, saying: "After the two weeks I have had, I am in a really good mood. I feel comfortable, my horses are all jumping amazing and I am just enjoying it! The Mexico show is always fantastic so we hope to continue well for the rest of the weekend.."

Beneath the towering Mexican flag, spectators packed the stands at Campo Marte, cheering on local heroes and international stars alike. Fans erupted in applause for riders like Nicolas Pizarro, Carlos Hank Guerreiro, and Fernando Martinez Sommer, as they took on the challenging course set by Anderson De Moura Lima.

The competition was fierce from the outset, with Jérôme Guery and Killer Queen setting the standard with an impressive and fast early clear round in 30.64 second. Soon after, Mariano Martinez Bastida & Jup looked to up the ante with a blistering round, but no match for Guery and Killer Queen.

With the pressure mounting, Gilles Thomas and Elfra van Beek Z showcased their trademark precision, securing a top five finish. However, it was Delestre’s impeccable performance that secured him the top spot on the leaderboard as the only combination to finish sub 30 seconds. Ignacio Maurin and Chacco-Conno PS took second place and Jérôme Guery with Killer Queen rounded out the podium in third.
