Ciaran Nallon announces himself on the global stage with a standout clear round in his debut Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Miami Beach.

New Name to Know: Nallon Delivers in Miami Beach Debut - Must Watch Moment

Under the electric Miami sun, with the Atlantic Ocean shimmering just beyond the arena, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Miami Beach delivered its first breakout moment of the 2026 season - and it belonged to a name many are only just beginning to learn.

At just 24 years old, Ireland’s Ciaran Nallon stepped into the spotlight in his debut season on tour, producing a composed and faultless Round 1 aboard the 10-year-old bay mare Casalla Blue PS. In a class defined by pressure, atmosphere, and the very best in the sport, the pair delivered a performance that marked them firmly as ones to watch in this milestone anniversary year.

Training alongside Philipp Weishaupt at the world-renowned Beerbaum Stables - a system that has helped produce some of the sport’s and the tour’s most decorated riders, including Christian Kukuk, Henrik von Eckermann, Olivier Lazarus and Emanuele Camilli - the young Irishman is immersed in an environment built for excellence. With Weishaupt’s guidance ringside in Miami Beach, that foundation was clear to see.

Their round was not just clear - it was confident, controlled, and beyond their years as a combination. Against a backdrop of sold-out crowds and the unique intensity of a beachfront arena, Nallon and Casalla Blue PS showed maturity and trust that belied their relative inexperience at this level.

Reflecting on the performance, Nallon remained grounded, but quietly confident in what his mare is beginning to show:

“I’m really pleasantly surprised how well she has stepped up to this level… it was a lot to ask for her to come here, especially to a venue like this with so much going on.”

It’s a sentiment that captures both the scale of the stage and the significance of the moment. Having only stepped up to bigger tracks earlier this year, Casalla Blue PS rose to the occasion with remarkable composure, matching her rider stride for stride in one of the most atmospheric venues on the circuit.

And while many riders in that position might already be looking ahead to results, rankings and podiums, Nallon’s focus tells a different story - one rooted in horsemanship and long-term vision:

“She is so green to this level… I just try to give her the best experience that I can. If it’s good enough, great - and if it’s not, as long as she comes out with a good experience, I’ll be more than happy.”
