Stars Shine in Longines Pro Am Cup

The Longines Global Champions Tour of Monaco once again played host to the Longines Pro Am Cup on Friday evening, which sees an amateur and professional rider pair up to compete for the coveted title with a focus on speed and agility. with €25,000 euros raised for the Amade Charity it was a fantastic evening for all.

The competition, which is in its tenth year, was launched by Patron Charlotte Casiraghi in 2010, emphasises the family spirit of the sport and its pace and relay format make it a real crowd pleaser. Set over two rounds, 12 teams took part all battling to jump clear and with the fastest combined time.

Fastest in the first round was Team Federation Equestre de la Principaute de Monaco, featuring Eileen Thomel and Samuel Hutton - the duo flying around on their horses Elite de la Ronciere and Easy Melusina BVL Z much to the delight of the cheering spectators.

And as the evening lights of Monte Carlo began to twinkle, the teams continued to battle it out for a podium finish as the crowd clapped and cheered the athletes on.

Isabella Beecroft-Luckett and Olivier Rober of Team Federation Equestre de la Principaute de Monaco threw down the gauntlet after Rhomberg set off at a cracking pace to set a combined time of 67.93s. A smiling Christian spoke after his blistering round: “It's so cool to ride with a 5* rider. My horse was good in this arena, she likes this arena with lots of atmosphere."

Pro rider Olivier Robert said: "Incredible, the family of France and England was fantastic tonight - a super moment! Isabella is a fantastic rider, and she could be a future LGCT Grand Prix winner!"

All eyes turned to Team Team Federation Equestre de la Principaute de Monaco, the team who had been so impressive in the first round. I lightning ride from amateur rider Eileen Thome meant all the pressure was on last to go pro rider Samuel Hutton but after wiping out the wing of the first fence it ruled them out of contention. So the win would go to Isabella Beecroft-Luckett and Olivier Robert of Team Amade, second to Margaux De Coninck and Derin Demirsoy of Team LO&F Estate, and third to Team Fayat featuring Eva Rey and Omer Karaevli.

My vision is clear. Only the best for the best.
