Pieter Devos’ Apart officially retired

Pieter Devos’ Apart officially retired

Today it has been announced that Pieter Devos’ 17 year old chestnut gelding Apart, has officially retired from the sport of show jumping. A year on from injury, and as much loved member of the entire Devos family, Apart has been retired as a healthy, sound and well horse to a life with his stablemate Espoir in the rolling green fields of Devos Stables.

An incredibly competitive horse for Pieter, Apart possesses huge amounts of intelligence and charisma alongside the most gentle of natures, meaning he is loved by all including Pieter’s two young children.

Apart’s story began with his education with Stal Hendrix, who then entrusted him to Devos Stables in 2013. Quickly becoming one of the most talented and important horses in the Devos Stables, Apart was previously ridden by Caroline before having the reins handed over to current Pieter Devos who is currently ranked second on the 2022 LGCT standings.

Apart competed across the world with success in many countries, he had huge success and was a popular name on the Longines Global Champions Tour. Big wins in Berlin and Hamburg along with placings including Shanghai, Monaco, St Tropez and Madrid to name but a few.
