A part of the GCL since its inception in 2016, Madrid in Motion has become a formidable team over the years. In 2018 the team stormed to victory in the GCL Super Cup Final in Prague. The team finished third overall in the GCL Championship of the 2019 season in Riyadh and once again secured a podium finish in the GCL Championship last year as well! On their home turf in Madrid, the team has earned podium finishes 2019 and 2021, finishing third and second, respectively. Last year the team narrowly missed out on the podium by less than two points, finishing in fourth place.
This season, Madrid in Motion will again have Dutch rider Maikel Van Der Vleuten at the helm, alongside his father Eric as team manager. 2024 sees the team made up of U25 young talent, Jack Whitaker, as well as new team mates in the flying Frenchman himself, Roger Yves Bost and young gun Ioli Mytilineou of Greece. Spain’s Eduardo Alvarez Aznar will again be joined by Marc McAuley who both return to the team following a stellar 2023 season.
With a strategic mix of returning riders and fresh talent, Madrid in Motion is eager to climb up the GCL leaderboard this season. Representing the team in Madrid will be Maikel Van Der Vleuten, Roger Yves Bost, and Spanish sensation Eduardo Alvarez Aznar. The riders will be eager to score maximum points for their team as they go head to head with the world’s top talent on their home turf in Madrid.
