The 2019 Longines Global Champions Tour and GCL of Madrid saw stunning show jumping action take place in the heart of the Spanish capital, at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. The expansive grass arena at this exclusive country club played host to the best riders and horses in the world, with nail-biting action from start to finish in the LGCT Grand Prix and GCL team competition.

The elegant Club de Campo Villa de Madrid is a well-known venue in the city and an important hub for those passionate about equestrianism. With excellent equestrian facilities and two golf courses - including one designed by the late Seve Ballesteros - this unique venue brought together elite level competition and the glamour of world-class show jumping in the historic Spanish capital. The show ground is only a few kilometres from the famous monuments and architecture within the heart of the city, including the Plaza de Cibeles, with its stunning Cibeles Fountain.

Martin Fuchs took the top honours in the competitive running of the LGCT Grand Prix of Madrid, and he made the most of his last-to-go draw in the 11-strong jump-off, beating Maikel Van Der Vleuten into second place with his fast and careful horse Chaplin. In the team competition, it was down to a fraction of a second as the London Knights emerged victorious over New York Empire in a breathtaking finish.
