Only a handful of grandstand tickets are left for Saturday’s Longines Global Champions Tour so don’t miss your chance to see the world’s top riders take on Great Britain’s champions in London this weekend.
Saturday is almost sold out ahead of the final team showdown in the GCL of London with home team London Knights' duo of Ben Maher and Olivier Philippaerts in pole position after day one. Can they convert that to a win and repeat their historic win on home turf from last year? One thing's for sure, they'll be looking for all the home support they can get in the thrilling showdown, where anything can happen!
Some covered grandstand tickets are still available to purchase online or at the Box Office at the entrance to the showground for tomorrow and Sunday is selling fast. Visitors can also buy £10 General Admission tickets at the showground Box Office giving access to the lively village and access to uncovered seats in the north tribune on a first come first served basis.
Lala and Alfie, the cutest mini pony and donkey in town are in situ for the Brooke equine welfare charity, which is being supported at the event by LGCT and TV personality Rory Bremner and riders. Visitors to the event can meet them for a selfie in the village area. With kids' entertainment, refreshments and something for all the family, you won't want to miss the final two days of action in London.
TV Presenter Clare Balding was among guests at the show and said: “It’s perfect, a perfect location. Taking show jumping into the major cities means so many more people get the chance to watch it. I can sit and watch Ben Maher and Scott Brash ride all day long. Getting to just watch it as a fan is very nice. Genuinely I look at the rota for GCT and if I was 20 and starting again it is what I would want to be doing Global Champions Tour. It is perfect taking it to all these really glamorous locations, the standard of the horses is really high and I think it is a very modern way of doing a very traditional sport.”
The unique venue of Royal Hospital Chelsea, home to the much-loved Chelsea Pensioners and venue of the famous Chelsea Flower Show, is looking resplendent ready for Super Saturday. On the north bank of the River Thames, the London leg of the LGCT global circuit offers a host of shopping, entertaining and dining options, with the added benefit of getting up close and personal with the stars of the showjumping world.
British fans can watch London 2012 Olympic gold team members Scott Brash and Ben Maher battle it out in the iconic arena in the LGCT Grand Prix of London Presented by Tennor.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of this showcase of top level equestrian sport in the heart of the UK's capital city.
