It’s almost time for the Longines Global Champions Tour Mexico City, and we thought we’d ask local rider Nicolas Pizarro for the lowdown on the best places to go in this magical city. From restaurants, to bars, places to unwind and things to see, we’ve got you sorted… So there’s never been a better time to come join us at LGCT and GCL Mexico City! Check out Nicolas’ top tips here, with handy links to view his recommendations...

Best Restaurant to eat at...

Rosa Negra, it's Latin American cuisine. It has the best ambiance and great music (DJ) so I recommend to go at night.

I also love Guadiana 19 as it has excellent Mexican food! I'd reconnend the fideo seco, escamoles and the beef tacos, for dessert - cajeta cake!

Something to do...

If you have a day off you should visit Teotihuacán, (prehispanic ruins very close to the city) - it is a majestic and very energising place.

Something to see...

Jumex collection at the MUAC, the anthropology museum and also Chapultepec castle - they are all very close to Campo Marte.

Best place to relax and unwind?

The spa at St Regis or Westin

Favourite song to land into Mexico City International Airport to (and why)...

For sure The Mariachi... the song México lindo y querido or the mariachi loco both very typical

My Secret Tip...

Go to Mercado de San Juan to eat then visit the Terraza Cha cha chá or Atrio for a margarita with a magnificent view of the revolution monument.
